When I was preparing to have my own family photos taken, admittedly I started to panic … what should we wear? So I began looking through my favorite photographs that I’ve captured of my own family to see what they were wearing. And you know what I realized? I’m actually never looking at what they are wearing. I’m looking at their expressions, their connections with each other … the story that’s being told. It eased a lot of pressure for me to find the perfect set of outfits!
So with that said, don’t stress about your outfit. Sure, put some thought into it, your photographs are something very special. But by thought I mean, what will help me tell your story? Is it your son’s favorite batman cape? Is it your daughter’s funky striped socks? Make sure those elements are part of their story. So, dress up, dress casual, be funky if you’re funky, be a kid if you’re a kid … be who you are and it will shine through the lens. Most of all …. Don’t Stress!
